Installing the New Farmside: A Journey of Excitement and Relief

As we approach the halfway mark of our Farmside project in Bickley, Bromley, Kent & South East London, it's a perfect opportunity to reflect on the incredible progress made so far. From feasibility and design package works in March 2020 to gaining planning permission in September and commencing on site in November 2020, this project has been a thrilling ride.

The latest milestone is the installation of the large VELUX roof light (9mx1.5m), which was craned onto the new extension of this charming 'Arts & Crafts' property late last Friday afternoon. The delivery of this massive component had to overcome a minor battle with HMRC customs, but we finally got it on site, and it's already making a significant impact.

Meanwhile, we've also been monitoring the installation of a large quantity of Crittal (TM) windows, which are looking fantastic, according to our clients and procurement team. It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do – to bring joy and satisfaction to our clients through our work.

With external works completing in November 2021, we're now focusing on the final stages of this project. We've signed off on the final designs for the joinery, appointed a master craftsman, and are testing the first fix electrical and plumbing in preparation for the dry works, which will commence in July alongside the bespoke kitchen installation. Estimated practical completion is September 2021.

As we look back on our progress, we're thrilled to have come so far and can't wait to see the final result. With the help of a talented team, including Phil Chard, owner of TBE, who offloaded the components for the roof light late last Friday afternoon – sigh of relief – we're confident that this project will be a true masterpiece.

The Farmside project is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and dedication. We're proud to have been a part of it and look forward to seeing it come to life.
